Recall Alert: Kiddie Smoke Detectors

On March 21, 2018, Kiddie, a major manufacturer of smoke detectors recalled its dual sensor (photoelectric and ionization) smoke alarms. The recall was made because of the potential risk of failure to alert consumers of a fire hazard. A yellow cap left on during manufacturing can potentially cover one of the sensors, inhibiting it to detect smoke. The recall involves models PI2010 and PI9010 (date coded Sept 10, 2016 through October 13, 2017).

Kiddie smoke alarms are sold at Walmart, Home Depot, Menards, and other stores.

Please check your smoke detectors!!!!!!
